Executive Vice President, Branch Manager
Scott Newman is executive vice president, and country head of State Street Bank International GmbH Poland branch. In this role, Scott is responsible for leading the local management team, defining and executing the strategy, business development and legal entity governance. The State Street International GmbH Poland branch was established in November 2007 and has since grown exponentially, providing investment fund accounting and full range of back and middle office products and services supporting all business lines of State Street.
Prior to transferring to State Street in Krakow, Scott was based in Munich where he led the research and setup of the new office in Krakow as well as relationship and project management roles. Scott joined State Street in 2003 through the acquisition of Deutsche Bank’s global custody business at which time he was based in Frankfurt, Germany and worked extensively on the aforementioned acquisition and integration.
At Deutsche Bank, Scott held roles in custody client service, product development and PMO.
He holds a bachelor of arts in business administration and is fluent in German.
Senior Vice President, Deputy Branch Manager
Anthony Thompson is a senior vice president, senior managing director and chief operating officer in Poland. Anthony joined State Street in August 2018 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he held numerous senior management positions, both domestically and internationally.
Anthony is an accomplished financial services manager with 20 years of experience in consumer banking and wealth management. He has successfully managed large operational and client service organizations, with a particular focus on strategic and business development, risk management solutions and operational effectiveness. Anthony’s background includes strategic and business development, risk management solutions, leadership and talent management and operational efficiencies.
Managing Director, Head of EMEA Fund Accounting Transformation
Alex is the managing director of EMEA Fund Accounting Transformation at State Street Poland. He began his career at State Street in Boston over 20 years ago and has since held managerial and leadership positions in several locations, including Cape Town, London and Krakow. After seven years in Krakow as the head of offshore fund accounting teams, Alex relocated to Gdansk in 2016 to lead the new office. As general manager in Gdansk, Alex led the site launch strategy and drove office growth to 2,000 employees in four years. He is currently based in Gdansk in the newly created EMEA Fund Accounting Transformation lead role.
Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Risk Management Center of Risk Excellence
Piotr is a financial professional with multiple years of experience across the banking, IT and engineering industries. Since joining State Street in 2011, Piotr successfully built and led the State Street Finance Shared Services Center in Poland, which includes accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), global treasury and regulatory reporting. In June 2016, Piotr assumed responsibility for the Enterprise Risk Management Center of Excellence which includes credit, liquidity, operational and market risk, quant model validation and quant model development.
Prior to joining State Street, Piotr supported the IT industry, managing the operations of IBM’s Research & Development Center as well as Hitachi SSC. Piotr began his career at RR Donnelley and has held various CFO, FP&A & project management roles in Poland.
Piotr earned a master of arts degree in economics at the Cracow University of Economics and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Teesside. He also attended the Risk Management program at the University of Chicago and Building-on-Talent program at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Managing Director, Head of Fund Accounting
Paul McCready is the managing director and head of Fund Accounting at State Street Poland. Paul has over 25 years of experience within the finance industry. He has been with State Street for 21 years, working in variety of Custody, Client Service and Fund Accounting management positions.
Prior to joining the team in Krakow in 2010, he was based in Edinburgh, UK where he managed customer service operations for State Street’s institutional clients in Europe and the Middle East.
Paul transferred to Poland in 2010 where he initially oversaw- the UK Fund Accounting business and over time, his role expanded to covering all EMEA Fund Accounting, as well as Fund Accounting Transformation.
Vice President, Head of Global Human Resources
Renata Szostak is a vice president and head of Global Human Resources for State Street in Poland. She is responsible for human resources management, including managing and monitoring payroll, regulatory and internal reporting, compliance with local employment regulations and company policies, oversight of compensation, and benefits and talent management functions. She joined State Street in 2008 and is a member of the Poland governance team.
Prior to State Street, Renata worked for over eight years at RR Donnelley, where she supported a green field operations in Russia and Hungary and led a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) implementation in EMEA which included interfaces to payroll.
Renata holds a Master of Business Administration from the Polish Open University (accredited by Oxford Brookes University) and a Master of Arts in modern European studies from North London University.
Managing Director, Head of Diversified Services Unit and Gdansk Site General Manager
Tomasz Salamon is managing director, general manager for State Street’s Gdańsk office. He also holds business responsibilities as head of Diversified Services Unit in Poland branch. In this role, Tomasz oversees Risk Analytics, Investment Compliance, Performance and Analytics and Transfer Agency operations in Poland. His teams have nearly 600 employees operating from both Krakow and Gdańsk offices.
Tomasz started his career in State Street in 2007 from associate 1 level – Fund Accountant position. He previously worked at HSBC and in Finance Department at Valeo.
Throughout his professional journey, Tomasz worked on setting up numerous specialized units – product specific pooling fund accounting team, fund expense administration team, shareholder tax team and virtual client change management team for one of State Street’s top10 clients. He was also a business coordinator in establishing State Street’s operations in a new location – Gdańsk. Up until end of 2018, Tomasz remained in Fund Accounting operations area, managing the departments servicing clients in Luxembourg and Switzerland. At the beginning of 2019, he moved internally to take on current scope of business responsibilities and in January 2020, he assumed the role of general manager for Gdańsk office.
One of Tomasz’s areas of focus is promotion of flexible work arrangements. He is also a business owner of the Poland RPA and RDA programs, as well as country lead for State Street’s Return to Office program.
In January 2021, Tomasz became a member of State Street Bank International GmbH Supervisory Board.
Tomasz holds a master’s degree in public administration from Jagiellonian University in Kraków and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Economics in Kraków. He is a French and English speaker.
Father of three and an amateur runner, Tomasz aspires to finish his first ultra-marathon in April 2021.
