Diversity and Inclusion

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Disclosure

As a diverse and inclusive organization, our employees come from many backgrounds and have a wide variety of life experiences. As we continue to build a culture of inclusion and diversity, we view transparency and accountability as key components of our diversity goals.

In our 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility report, we expanded on our efforts to address racism and inequality by disclosing our EEO-1 survey data, which outlines our employee data by race and ethnicity, gender and job category. The EEO-1 data is a report filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, who collects workforce data from employers with more than 100 employees.

Due to COVID-19, 2019 EEO-1 data filing was delayed. We expect to file both our 2019 and 2020 data in the spring of 2021.

EEO-1 data is just one way that we measure progress toward our diversity goals. We continue efforts to recruit, retain and promote more Black, Indigenous and people of color representation, and continue to support our more than 24 employee networks. We’ve also enhanced our training and global partnerships, and launched 10 State Street Actions to strengthen racial equity across our firm. In addition to these efforts, we continue to hold ourselves accountable through in-house and public commitments.
